the challenge
A wall drawn by everyone
Escola Azul wanted a mural the kids would feel was theirs. So every class drew one shape, and I turned two hundred drawings into one big puzzle.
The final design keeps every kid’s shape, just bigger and a lot brighter.
my approach
Paint by numbers, but bigger
I outlined the design on the wall and numbered every shape. Each class painted their own colours in a one hour slot, with me fixing edges in between.
We finished with a coat of sealant so the wall survives football, rain and recess.

The kids still point at the bits they painted.
