the challenge
Music you can almost see
Sunday Sounds plays slow records for slow mornings. They wanted visuals that move like the music: soft, looping and a little bit wobbly.
Each episode got its own paint squiggle loop that matches the mood of the record.
my approach
Painted on paper, moved on screen
I painted every shape on paper first, scanned the strokes and animated them frame by frame, so the grain of the paint stays in the motion.
Loops ship as square, vertical and wide versions for every platform.
